Last year I wrote a bit on how there were no plans to release The Monster Squad to DVD because the studio that owned it felt it didn’t have a large audience to constitute a release. We also gave to you the address to said studio so you can write to them to tell them what fucking morons they are for not releasing such a kick ass film. Well it looks like enough of you have done that, because it was recently announced that The Monster Squad is finally coming to DVD as a special edition! The studio did read those letters and opted to release the rights to Lionsgate, who will then be releasing it this year, most likely in the fall. How awesome is that?!? On behalf of all b-movie nuts, thank you for taking the time to write in bitching. To read more about the release, click the link below:

Well done freaks! But it’s not quite over yet. See Fred Dekker was the madman behind The Monster Squad, but he also made another equally awesome but unfortunately forgotten b-flick Night of the Creeps, and although The Monster Squad is finally getting a release, nothing has been planned for Creeps at the moment. Night of the Creeps is basically a forgotten film, basically swept under the carpet by The Monster Squad. You can’t really blame fans of The Monster Squad for forgetting Creeps; The Monster Squad is a great film that stood the test of time. But now it’s time to pull Night of the Creeps out from the vault for the whole world to enjoy! It is a fantastic b-movie that deserves respect. Fans of all b-movies, and especially The Monster Squad, would be nuts not to include this film in their collection.
So, I repeat:
If you want a NIGHT OF THE CREEPS DVD write to:
Mr. Michael Lynton
Mr. Bob Osher
Sony Pictures Entertainment
10202 West Washingtopn Blvd.
Culver City, CA 90232
Now for some other upcoming b-releases you’ll get a kick out of: Cult Camp Classics, a series of b-movie box sets from Warner, will be released on June 26, 2007, and includes the following films:

Cult Camp Classics, Vol. 3: Terrorized Travelers (Zero Hour, Skyjacked, Hot Rods To Hell)

The little-seen Canadian gem Graveyard Alive: A Zombie Nurse in Love will be released May 8, 2007 from BFS Entertainment.
A new special edition of Ichi the Killer, which will come in a very cool Collector’s Edition ‘Blood Bag’, will hit stores May 29, 2007 from Lionsgate.
They Came From The Grave, a five-film box set featuring some truly bad zombie flicks, will be released June 12, 2007 from Tempe Video. The set includes My Dead Girlfriend, Carnage For The Destroyer, Dead & Rotting, Filthy McNasty, and Mulva: Zombie Ass Kicker!
Finally, the gore-soaked Evil Aliens, a crazy monster film from director Jake West, will arrive October 2, 2007 from Image Entertainment.
